I am always reminded at this time of year of the sheer horror of being forced to take part in School Sports Day.
Here’s a little poem I’ve penned for all who may be dreading such events.
School Sports Days aren’t much fun if you are fat, and forced to run, jump and shout Yippee.
When you’d actually rather much prefer it that, you were eating crisps and watching the TV.
You could always say you’ve a verruca, or even life threatening athletes foot.
This might save you from the sack race, or spare you the horror of shot-put.
But better to just grin and bear it, join in the fun through gritted teeth and cheer.
And just remember to be thankful that this only ever happens once a year.
Humorous and superb! Loved it, Clive. Laughed throughout while reading your poem. Very witty, indeed. 👍
